Can M5wallet recover my wallet if I lose access?

Section titled “Can M5wallet recover my wallet if I lose access?”

No. M5wallet cannot reset or recover a recovery phrase, a PIN, a passcode or a vault password. What you need depends on the wallet type:

Wallet type To restore it on a new device you need
Seed phrase wallet The recovery phrase
Google sign-in wallet Your Google account and your 4-digit PIN
Hardware wallet The device, or its own recovery phrase

What’s the difference between the passcode, the PIN and the recovery phrase?

Section titled “What’s the difference between the passcode, the PIN and the recovery phrase?”
  • Passcode: unlocks M5wallet on one device. It can’t restore a wallet anywhere else.
  • PIN: 4 digits that, together with your Google account, restore a Google sign-in wallet.
  • Recovery phrase: 12 to 24 words that restore a seed phrase wallet anywhere. Anyone who has them controls the wallet.

For seed phrase, private key and hardware wallets, your keys stay with you. Google sign-in and Fast Vault wallets rely on M5wallet’s servers to store encrypted parts of the wallet. See How M5wallet protects your keys.

M5L (M5 Legacio) is a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain that appears in your asset list by default. The $0.10 value shown next to M5L in the app is a configured reference price, not a market price: M5L is not listed on an exchange.
